Director, Digital Investment

Job Summary
The Director, Digital Investment will be an ambitious, go-getter that thrives in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment. This role is both a leader and a manager, acting as the day-to-day liaison between clients and internal and external Agency partners. They will lead digital media strategy, development, analysis, and execution across Evergreen’s portfolio of clients, while at the same time managing media vendor investments and a high caliber staff. This role allows for great personal and professional growth to lead a team within an up and coming Media Trade agency.

Managerial Responsibilities (50% of time):
• Lead and manage all digital media buying activities and assigned staff across Evergreen’s portfolio of clients including, but not limited to streaming audio, OTT, display, programmatic and social
• Proactively develop media buying and negotiation skills for the digital team by assessing needs, arranging for and/or participating in training for the group
• Act as a mentor, investing time and energy in the career growth of junior team members including setting career goals and conducting performance reviews
• Regularly monitor team performance, setting challenging goals, while at the same time balancing client and Agency priorities
• Manage team workload, ensuring client KPIS, deadlines and expectations are met
• Set frequent and consistent touchpoints with senior management to report on team performance and financial goals
• Possess a comfort level in managing up within the organization and provide POVs to Agency leaders who may have limited knowledge of digital media

Media Buying and Planning Responsibilities (30% of time):
• Develop and lead the execution of digital plans and buys based on accurate interpretation of media research and client priorities
• Demonstrate an understanding of client business needs and push the envelope, when appropriate, to set Agency apart from competitors by bringing new ideas, solutions and thinking to the table
• Ensure the integrity, quality and competitiveness of the Agency’s digital media buys
• Adhere to and establish as needed, best practices, including systems and procedures for timely and accurate processing of work
• Create timely and compelling buy/post buy presentations, which highlight the quality and thinking of Agency’s work
Media Industry Expertise (15% of time):
• Coordinate with senior management and internal Agency teams to share industry insights on pricing trends, research, campaign learnings, case studies and shifts in digital advertising
• Serve as a thought leader on digital advertising and buying including emerging channels and best practices
• Grow strong client relationships through demonstration of industry knowledge and basic business challenges of clients
• Regularly participate in relevant continued education opportunities including webinars and conferences

Networking Responsibilities (5% of time):
• Actively develop and maintain strong media vendor relationships
• Build Agency’s reputation as best in class within the media industry and vendor community
• Attend industry and client related functions and networking events 1-2 times a month outside normal business hours
• Be an active, participating member of relevant industry organizations such as the Advertising Club of New York
• Create new trade partnerships with digital media vendors

Fiscal Responsibilities
• Must achieve financial goals of both client and Agency by managing costs, revenue, and scope of work
• Effectively negotiate buys with media vendors and establish competitive media cost benchmarks for Agency
• Accurately project costs and anticipate financial results of media buys

Ideal Candidate will possess the following:
• 4 year Bachelor degree or equivalent career experience
• 10+ years of experience in digital media, marketing, and team management
• Strong media vendor relationships
• Fluent in mathematical concepts with an ability to translate data into well-articulated ideas
• In-depth knowledge and proficiency of research tools
• Understanding of the principles of marketing and advertising as well as media concepts and terms
• Proven record of success in leading full service digital accounts and teams
• Strong written, presentation, analytical, quantitative, and verbal skills
