Digital Media Buyer

The Digital Buyer will bring a dynamic best-in-class attitude to the Digital team and hit the ground running on day one. The role will be responsible for day-to-day management of accounts and executing media planning and buying across a variety of digital media types.

Duties and Responsibilities
Media Buying and Planning Responsibilities (45% of time):
• Manage key agency accounts being both the internal and external day to day contact
• In depth knowledge of available media vendors and offering relevant to assign client(s)
• Steward Digital media plans from inception through completion including:
 Writing RFPs to be issued to vendors ensuring all appropriate vendors are included in the request
 Negotiate Digital media buys
 Provide back-up research to support the Digital recommendation
 Manage implementation of media buys and overall campaign maintenance including post-campaign reporting
 Coordinate vendor meetings for media buy kick-off calls
• Participate in strategy development and brainstorming meetings

Managerial Responsibilities (20% of time):
• Supervise Assistant Buyer’s day to day workload
• Manage internal agency relationships

Administrative Responsibilities (20% of time):
• Cross check plans and all supporting documents for accuracy (client billing, insertion orders, vendor invoices etc.)
• Oversee the contracting process with approved media buys and ensure adherence to the process
• Resolve billing discrepancies
• Prepare and update marketplace overviews as necessary to be used as a department reference tool to provide in-depth overviews of existing/emerging vendors, landscape updates, etc. for client presentation and planning purposes

Media Industry Expertise (10% of time):

• Attend agency meetings including vendor and client as needed

Networking Responsibilities (5% of time):
• Actively develop and maintain strong media vendor relationships
• Build agency’s reputation as best in class within the media industry and vendor community
• Attend industry and client related functions and networking events 1-2 times a month outside normal business hours
• Be an active, participating member of relevant industry organizations such as the Advertising Club of New York

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent career experience
• 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of media math, digital terms, media planning/buying process, and Microsoft Office
• Understanding of research tools and how to apply to digital media

Core Competencies

• Must be extremely detail oriented and be able to proofread documents for accuracy
• Must be highly organized and meet deadlines
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to integrate and work successfully with various agency teams, handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
